Hello community,
we are having a specific situation when it comes to time reporting with Tempo in our JSM environment.
We are working together with external partners who need to report time, which ends up on the customer invoice.
Currently they are doing this outside of our Jira / Tempo environment, but it would be much better if we could also rapport their time somehow with Tempo so it can be added to the internal reported time.
We however cannot give them access to our Jira environment, thus just creating a Jira user for them is not an option.
What is an option however is that somebody with a Jira user, so an internal employee, rapports the time for these external partners.
I know that it is possible to rapport time for other users, however does this work if the other user is not a complete Jira user?
Meaning that they do not have any product access, so basically just an external customer user.
We could also create dummy users for them, but would that then mean that we need to pay licenses for JSM if we want this to work or is it somehow possible without given them any licenses/ product access?
Or lastly, is there any other option that external partners can directly access Tempo without the need of a Jira access?
We are currently on JSM Server, but we will change soon to JSM Cloud, so if there is a solution for JSM Cloud then please let me know too.
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Simon
Additionally, this happens when I try to add a dummy test user (no licenses / product access) to an Tempo team:
