Is there a way to use a sub domain to point to Jirs Service desk portal , without the actual URL showing up ?
EG : support.domain.com --> https://jira.domain.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/2
But the URL should remain support.domain.com ?
Hi there,
Are you hosting the instance yourself, or are you working through a provider? What are you using for your DNS host?
I know some companies will allow it and the process might differ depending on what you're using to host Jira.

but to no affect. I did restart Jira after the updates .
i have Apache virtual host files configured to direct a specific domain to the Jira ports .
I am not sure how tomcat will then redirect accordingly though?
i have confluence also running on the same server on another port and this is accessible via another sub domain again redirected by Apache virtaual conf.

I am also having the same issue trying to create a sub-domain (help.domain.com) to point to > https://myatlassianaccount.atlassian.net/servicedesk but to no avail. It seems like the Jira Service Desk (cloud hosted by Atlassian) isn't welcoming the URL direct from our DNS hoster (Dreamscape Networks).
Appreciate your help.

Hi,
There is a Suggestion open for this functionality that you can find at JSDSERVER-513: Make it possible to use service desk in combination with subdomains.
There is a workaround listed that involves the use of your proxy:
Workaround
Use a Reverse Proxy or URL redirect service external from JIRA.
Another workaround is described in How to customize customer portal URL in JIRA Service Desk Server
Please ensure you test this first on your test instance before you implement on your production.
Please also note that Atlassian does not support this customization.
Please vote on the issue to add impact and you'll be notified of any updates to JSDSERVER-513. In addition there are some suggestions that may work for you in the Comments so please be sure to review them for any workarounds that may be of use to you in your environment.
Hopefully that helps.
Cheers,
Branden
