Project notification email change doesn't work


1, we have settings in jira outgoing mail server:


SMTP host


2, in project setting, notification email is


when jira service desk send out mail to customer, it is


After I change 2 to in project notification setting, customer will receive as set in jira outgoing mail server.

But I want customer to receive


Have I missed anything? why doesn't it work to change only in project setting?

that's better to check smtp relay side. 

Sometimes easier to use relay which will not set the original account and can help to use a sender header not only FROM.
