Password to a request

Dieter Peter September 9, 2020

Hello is it possible to set a password to a request so that only people with the password can access the request?

Thank you very much in advance

Hi Dieter

As far as I'm aware, you can't password protect a request as such.

The best way to limit who sees a request is to look at the permissions for that request, and if needed create a new group with the correct permissions for the request.  You can find out more about permissions at the following link:

https://support.atlassian.com/jira-core-cloud/docs/how-do-jira-permissions-work/

If you're looking to limit the customers who can see  request then by default only the customer raising the request, and any request participants, will be able to see the post.  You can allow others to view the request by grouping them into organizations - this allows all customers who are grouped into an organization to see all of the tickets for that organization.  You can see more about organizations at the following link:

I hope the above is useful :-)
