Hi ,
i need to reset my password while i do not have the current password ,
i succeed to login through google authentication.
but i need to change the password for the normal login for some plugin.
can you please tell me how to reset the password ? thanks.
Hi @Avishay Hirsh,
In case you are using the Cloud products and therefore you use Atlassian Accounts to authenticate, then the procedure to set a password is the one detailed in the workaround section of https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-46830:
If this is not applicable because you didn't have a password previously set in id.atlassian.com and therefore you cannot use the change-password form. Then do the following:
- Go to https://id.atlassian.com/login/resetpassword
- Enter you email, complete the CAPTCHA and click on Send
- Once you receive the password reset email, do not click on the button to Access but on the link below that says "reset password".
- Fill up the new password and you are done.
Please let me know if this helps.
Cheers,
Dario
Also, if you need to authenticate REST API calls, you can actually use the new API Token:

I am our company's Jira admin. If someone forget his/her password, how do I reset it for them?

If it's an administrator account I'd suggest to have a look here:
