Knowledge Base Article with Video - How to Add Thumbnail to Article

Edited

Hello,

We are utilizing Confluence/Jira Service Desk combo for our knowledge base platform. I was just wondering how a video tutorial within an article (the article that folks would see in the portal) can show up as a thumbnail instead of a link. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much!

Brock

For all that are interested, with the help of a colleague, we have figured this out.

  1. Utilize IFrame (/IFrame in Confluence)
  2. Find your video source (Vimeo, Loom, etc) and locate the embed code
  3. Copy and paste ONLY the url, not the entire embed code into the first field of the right panel that opens up
  4. Adjust the height, the width, alignment, and other options
  5. It will save automatically and your video will show up as a thumbnail and not a mp4 hyperlink within the Help Desk.
