Jira extend "Account" field display length

When adding an issue and selecting an account the account-field that is on the screen is not long enough. Therefore we are unable to select the right account where the first part of the name is the same. Hovering over the account names doesn't help (because nothing is displayed then).

So we are looking to extend the length of the Account field on the screen. We found a solution (https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-change-text-box-length-on-a-screen-ui-in-jira-732399321.html) but we don't have the options in our Jira cloud environment available.

I hope the screendump below makes things more clear.
