I need to automate the triage of issues in the service desk by changing the request type through the (Cloud) API?
I don't find a way to do that in the JSD REST API, nor in the JIRA REST API.

From what I've seen this isn't possible either. Take a look at the Suggestion at JSDSERVER-3471 and start with the comment by Brad.
