I can't upload external avatars in my project as an admin

dmullor73 gmail April 11, 2021

When I try to upload an external avatar in my project or in any other project (not what already exist in JIra), I get a permission denied error. It happens to me with any type of image and I am an administrator

Jira system.

With the Jira avatars that already exist, I don't have a problem.

Thanks in advance

Hello @dmullor73 gmail ,

Thanks for reaching out, and the permission denied error you are seeing generally occurs when there is a permission error on the avatar directory within the Jira_home directory on the server back end as described here:

I would recommend checking out the following KB articles for correcting directory permissions as the first step:

Let me know how it goes.

Earl

Thanks a lot,

I solved the problem by changing the Root user to Openshift soft user "1000170000" which is the one that performs the action, in the temp folder, of the Jira installation directory path. In my case: / opt / atlassian / Jira / temp

Thank you very much again.

All the best.
