How to set default value as reporter in User picker custom field on create screen

Hey guys,

I want to have default value for "Detected By" field which is a user picker field and this field is configured to show the users which are added to the project roles. now I wanted to set a default value as reporter to the field Detected By and if user want they can modify it to different user.

Is it possible to achieve this? Please help me if any solution is available

Hi,

Not for now unfortunately ... There's no way to set the Reporter as the default value of a User Picker field.

What you could do, is add a description to the field saying that if you are the person who detected the bug to leave the field empty in the form on your portal and then add a post-function to your initial transition in your wokflow.

There's an option to copy the value of a field to another field and it looks like :

where you'd replace "Manager" with your custom field.

This can also be achieved with an automation rule.

This is not a perfect solution but it's the best one I can think of.
