How to populate custom field from third party service

Fabio Martignago January 13, 2021

Hello,

I need to develop integrations between JIRA and other applications.

1- For instance I need to populate a custom field with informations from my local DB.

2- For instance I need to retrieve the datas from tickets fields.

Is it possible? How can I learn how to do? Is There REST API reference ?

thanks

Hi @Fabio Martignago

You can not do it out of the box. However, there are some paid add-ons which solve your problem.

One recommendation could be Elements Connect. You can fill customfield values externally.

Thanks for the recommendation @Tansu Akdeniz !

@Fabio MartignagoOn Jira Cloud you can use Elements Connect to populate fields with data from a database (for the moment just PostegreSQL databases, but more datasources will be released soon).

On Server/Data Center the app allows you to fetch data from other fields, but because of the differences with how apps work on Jira Cloud, this isn't possible.
