How to backup JSM?

Rasmus Harder August 10, 2022

Hi All

I work for a hosting company, and we have a client using Jira Cloud.

We need to make backup of the JSM.

How to proceed with this request? Can't seem to find any topics.

Thanks in advance

We launched Rewind to automatically back up and restore Jira Software (Cloud), and we'll be expanding to support JSM later this year. If you are interested, I'd love to hear more about what you'd like to see in the product!

In case you are interested, here is the backup app for Jira Software:

Currently Jira Cloud is quite limited with the options regarding backups.

Officially you can only use the Backup manager in System settings to complete a backup (https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/export-issues/). Atlassian is working on more options for (automatic) backups but it's still under development: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CLOUD-6498. You can try to sign up for the EAP to get early access for this.

There are also some 3rd party options available at the Marketplace, but I do not have any experience with those apps.

Hi Ward

Thanks for your answer

We already have powershell script downloading the backup that is made in Jira Cloud. Is JSM a part of Jira Cloud? Because then i guess its already included in the backup we are doing with attachments.

Best regards Rasmus
