Dear All
we are working with the JIRA Servicedesk Cloud solution. Since we have more and more information stored in the cloud, we are keen to find a good backup solution to save all information from all existing projects as well as the JIRA-settings.
The goal of the backup is that we will be able to make a restore from all projects, issues, targets (CMDB with information of our hard-and software infrastructure) and all basic JIRA settings.
I am really look forward to hearing from you how we should do it and if there is a best practice.
Best regards
Ladinai
Hi Ladinai,
Atlassian do some backups automatically, as mentioned in their Data Storage FAQ, but it is really for disaster recovery at their end.
"Point in time backups for your instance are taken every 24 hours for purposes of recovery from application failure. Backups are stored at a location separate from the data center. Use of backup data to roll back changes to application data is not supported. Backups are retained for seven days, and then deleted. All backups are encrypted before being taken offsite."
So, you can create a backup yourself using the instructions here and store it.
There's also some information in this Knowedge Base article about automating: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-automate-backups-for-jira-cloud-applications-779160659.html
