How do I create a Support Ticket Backlog Report using Service Desk

We are using Service Desk for support ticketing systems.  I am trying to find away to create a report or chart that can show the backlog of support tickets over time.  if that is possible, then we would like to add the length of time that the backlog tickets are open.  

There is no connection of the support backlog report to engineering's burn down report or anything connect to our engineering projects.

Hi Owen,

as I wrote in another question

to edit or create reports you need to be a project administrator. There are some default reports from Jira Service Desk and of course you can create your own reports. You can find more information on the Atlassian documentation
