My team would like to reduce the email quantity coming from Jira. To achieve the goal, I would like to take off issue status change notification to Assignee and Watcher. I started with removing the receivers in notification schema for Issue Resolved. That didn't affect anything. Both user categories are still receiving updates about issues moved to resolved. (Have had the same experience by adding receivers). I have confirmed that I am working in active notification scheme for the project. Below is a print screen for your reference.
