Hello Team,
Our actual project is using JIRA Service Desk Application v4.13.1. The project ends this 31 December 2022. The servers on which Jira is installed will be decommissioned. Are there any steps that need to be done for the decommissioning of Jira on our platform?
Is stopping the Jira service and decommissioning the server enough? Are there any actions that need to be done from our part concerning the Jira license purchased?
Best regards,
Bruno.
Hey @Bruno Casimir you posted this in the Cloud forum but I'm assuming you are hosted on premise if you wish to decommision servers?
What type of license are you using? Server or Datacenter?
For an on premise license as long as you don't renew it, it will just expire. The DC version will make your environment go "read-only" (but that won't matter if you decom anyway) and a Server version will continue running but without support
So if you don't intend to further use the platform you can just decommission the system and stop any renewals of your licenses.
Hello Dirk,
Yes it is hosted on premises. We are using server license type.
So you confirm just decommissioning the server is enough ?
Best regards,
Bruno.

Just decommissioning the server should be fine!
But do make sure your purchasing department doesn't pay the maintenance renewals of your licenses cause that would be a shame to pay for something you're not using.
