Hello,
We've been noticing in my team that copy-pasting of text and screenshots into tickets is very inconsistent for our projects.
On half of our tickets when you ctrl+c / ctrl+v a screenshot, it gets uploaded to the ticket straight away and inserted into the comment text as "!image_xxx.png|thumbnail!".
On the other half, you get a pop up window like the one below:
This can happen to one person, working on the same computer, same browser (newest Chrome) within a couple of minutes apart - one of the screenshots will open this way, the other one another way..
We've also been experiencing a lot of issues with pasting urls / email addreses (copy-paste) into the comments and getting the pop up window trying to upload that piece of text as an image:
The link actually did not have any space behind of before (we double checked). The issue goes away at some point, but is anyone experiencing this as well?
It's so inconsistent that is seems like it must be a bug? Or any advice how to sort it out?
Thanks!
Zofia
Hi,
could this be related to the usage of the Text / Visual editor when adding a comment?
Best
JP
Hi JP,
Could you explain what you mean please?
We copy-pasted the text from an email and the images (screenshots) come from SnagIt - a screenshot tool.
The problem is the lack of consistency - because 50% of the time things work fine..
Thank you!
Zofia

Hello Zofia,
Our company is having similar issues.
We cannot copy and paste from an Outlook email and have it include graphics (captured from Greenshot).
When we paste into "Reply to customer" field, the text and bullets do paste but any graphics are stripped.
I then have to hunt and peck to find the graphics in my original email and paste each graphic individually where it should go in the "reply to customer" jira box.
This is for each and every update our support staff and development do for all of our tickets.
JIRA development, please fix this.
