Configure workflow transitions in Jira to trigger the update of date fields (start and end)

I want to configure workflow transitions in Jira to trigger the update of date fields (start and end). If I change an issue from the to do state to the development state, I want the start date of that issue to be updated to the current day. If I change an issue to done status I want the end date of that issue to be updated to the current day.

I want this to be done for all the projects I currently have.

Quiero configurar las transiciones del flujo de trabajo en Jira para activar la actualización de los campos de fecha (inicio y fin). Si cambio una incidencia del estado por hacer al estado de desarrollo, quiero que la fecha de inicio de esa incidencia se actualice al día actual. Si cambio una incidencia al estado hecho, quiero que la fecha de fin de esa incidencia se actualice al día actual.

Quiero que esto se haga para todos los proyectos que tengo actualmente.

AS you are on Cloud you have Jira Automation where you can accomplish this request with, or buy an App from the Atlassian Marketplace to extend the options you can do with workflows.

Create 2 automation rules.

Rule setup

1. Trigger is Issue Transitioned, setting from any to development state
2. Action is Edit Issue, setting choose field start date and use the smart value {{now}}

Copy the rule, and adjust the status and the field in the edit action.

Could you share what platform you are using and what apps you have installed.

I don't think you can set dates with the inbuilt features, certainly not on cloud.

I am using Jira Software for projects type: Company-managed sofware. I have installed only JIRA Toolkit Plugin.

I don´t know if maybe with any automation or any conditions on the workflows... but i don´t find the solutions.
