Changing the BASE URL from IP address

skenzo34 April 20, 2019

Hello!

I try to change the base URL in the Settings, but no results :(

At the moment the URL is IP:8090

I want to change it to subdomain ticket.domain.com

Do I need to change the Virtualhost settings in the Apache settings or there is another method of how to change it?

Best Regards, Michael!

Hi Michael,

https://confluence.atlassian.com/kb/proxying-atlassian-server-applications-with-apache-http-server-mod_proxy_http-806032611.html has done good detail on setting Apache as a reverse proxy via hostname. Have a look through and see if there’s anything there that has not yet been done.

What does "no results" mean?  What are you expecting and what actually happens?

Changing the base url in Jira only tells the application where it is expected to live, have you adjusted your network so that it routes traffic to the new url as well?
