Hi All,
Please let me know if the AssetIT - IT Asset Management for JIRA is a plugin which can be installed in our JIRA Service Management or is it a completely separate from JIRA Service Management?
Hi @Gaurav Bedi
I am working for DevSamurai, the maker of the AssetIT,
AssetIT - IT Asset Management for JIRA is a plugin that can be installed in JIRA Service Management. It provides IT Asset Management functionality within JIRA Service Management, allowing you to track and manage your IT assets alongside your service management workflows.
Makes it easy to link issues with assets.

Appreciate your response @Teresa_DevSamurai_ .
That brings me another question.
Do we have good compatible barcode scanner which can be integrated with JIRA to update the inventory and add the data in there respective fields?
Like: Model/ Make/ Size/ and rest of the configuration

If you want to use a barcode reader to import asset details into AssetIT, you can do so by exporting the data as a CSV file and importing it into AssetIT using the CSV importing feature.
While AssetIT does not directly support the integration of a barcode reader, you can still use almost any barcode scanner to scan assets and save the data as a CSV file, which can then be imported into AssetIT.

In JSM Cloud, there is already an "Assets (previous known as "Insight") management component out of the box if your subscription plan is Premium or Enterprise free of charge.

However, as regarding to your original ask of "AssetIT - IT Assets Management for Jira", it is not the same as "Assets management" component bundled with JSM Cloud subscription. It is a completely separate third party add-on.
Hope this helps.
