Hi, I'm sure I've seen a doc on this but I can't find it!
When a request on Jira Service Desk server version goes out for approval I want the approval button in the actual email sent out to the approver.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
Cheers
Hi Nick,
The actual approval buttons have to be added to the Approval notification.
Go to Customer Notifications - Approval Required
Insert variable - Approval buttons
Hi,
Thanks Susan, that is what I was looking to do.
Cheers,
Nick

Hi Susan,
Sorry to piggy-back on this post but I don't see Approval buttons in my Variable drop down. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance.

Susan,
I am using the Cloud version so I'm not sure if that makes a difference:

@Jason Sweet, the Approval variable is not available in Cloud. TBH, not sure why or if it will eventually be added. There is a product suggestion to add to cloud - JSDCLOUD-4349

I use Spanish translation for service desk 3.14.
The approval buttons doesn't change with translation.
It keeps "Approve" & "Decline".
Do you know if there is a way to change it?
Kind regards?

Same here using French. Not only the text of the buttons are in English in the email, but all the related text in the portal is in English as well.

Hi guys,
I have a new problem that the Approve / Decline buttons from the email suddenly open a browser tab requesting a login for the portal. I am pretty sure this is new... Is there a possibility to go around the necessity to login? So that clicking one of the buttons in the email actually instantly does the intended action?
Cheers

Just tested it in our instance and it is asking users to login as well. It used to approve the ticket once the button is clicked.

This "out of the box" option is available if you have "Service Desk" installed.
You can implement part of it in Jira (Core and Software) if you're familiar enough with the workflow configuration.
Some apps ($$ third parties) may help you as well.
Best.
