Hi @BSANSC2019

in case you are looking for a hint what this is caused by in detail more details what is in logs before and after the error message is written would be helpful.
However, in case you have meanwhile solved the problem by the tips you have received already this is also fine.

The reasons could range from a validator, like Pramodh said to some interference of Apps I fear - in case you have some installed it might be worth having a look at them (if they are on a current version, just to name one example).

Also of interest would be: is this error happening after an upgrade, a config change or happens it suddenly?

Regards,
Daniel

Thanks.  That's helpful.  If I can continue to have the issue with the next upgrade I will get back to you.  Thanks.

I have upgraded and still getting this message when trying to clone a ticket.  There appears to be no other errors unless it is located somewhere in the files.  We recently had a change in administrators and unsure what might have caused the error.  There have not been changes in work flows.  Changes have been made to the teams assigned to the ticket.

I chose clone on a ticket and then hit create and get the following message  I have to hit cancil to get this screen to recede

"admin.errors.exception com.atlassian.jira.exception.CreateException: com.atlassian.jira.workflow.WorkflowException"

You'll need to look in the logs for the rest of the error associated with this.  It's likely to tell you roughly where the problem is.

My best guess from that message is that you've got a (scripted?) validator or post-function that is failing.   The rest of the error in the log should confirm which and probably give you the app name from which it comes from.

There is no way to know, you've not given us the rest of the error or any context in which it happens.

All we can tell you is that something went wrong in your workflow.   You'll need to read the rest of the errors for more information.

Thanks. I am trying to clone a ticket.  Does that help?

Not beyond telling is it is probably in the "create" transition.

What are the rest of the errors?

Hi @BSANSC2019

This seems to be a workflow error!

May I know what you are trying to achieve here?

Please check for the condition, validator in the transition where it's giving the error.
