Meet Jira Service Desk 4.0, our latest platform release.

We know IT teams rely on Jira Service Desk to serve their organizations at all stages of growth. That’s why we’re excited to announce Jira Service Desk 4.0, our latest platform update which harnesses an upgraded engine built for enterprise scale.

With Jira Service Desk 4.0, IT teams will be able to deliver service with faster performance, increased productivity, and greater scalability.

In 4.0, you'll experience:

  • Faster performance that will help IT teams be more productive and complete everyday tasks in less time.
  • Faster reindexing and greater stability that will save time (and headaches) for our Jira administrators.
  • jQuery upgrade to enhance security and simplify the upgrade experience.
  • Accessible priority icons to make them more distinctive and easier to read.
  • New options in advanced search to help you quickly find issues by contributor, date range, and link types.

Jira Service Desk 3.16 is certified as an Enterprise release!

We're excited to introduce Jira Service Desk Server & Data Center 3.16 is our latest Enterprise release line.

What's an Enterprise release, you ask?

  • Enterprise releases receive additional backported bug fixes and security updates from later feature releases throughout its two-year support window.
  • For organizations that require significant effort to upgrade their deployments, upgrading to an Enterprise release may be a good option. That means you can stay on the release for longer.
  • If you're planning to upgrade to Jira Service Desk 3.16, upgrade to its latest available bug fix release (from 3.16.1 onwards).

What's new since Jira Service Desk 3.9?

Since our last Enterprise release, we've been busy building features to make it easier and faster for IT teams to get work done. Here are some highlights of new features that have been rolled out between 3.9 and 3.16.

  • A new, modern user experience with updated colors, typography, and icons.
  • Easier and more visible approvals, whether through emails, the customer portal, and automation.
  • Free up space and unlock resources with project archiving, and custom field optimizer (Data Center only).
  • And much more!
