What's new in Jira Service Desk Server (4.3): Smarter search & CDN - July 2019

Hello Atlassian Community!

I'm Teresa, the Product Marketing Manager for Jira Service Desk Server at Atlassian. Here are the latest updates in Jira Service Desk Server and Data Center 4.3:

New similarity search in the customer portal

Searching by request type just got easier with similarity search. Now if you search for "Onboard employee" in the help center, you'll also see "Onboard new employee" request types in the results.

Limiting threads to boost performance

We've improved system stability and performance by bounding the number of threads in the pool to process SLA events asynchronously, and control the impact high traffic has on your experience

New filters to search for custom fields

Find a custom field even if you don't know its exact name by using one, or a collection, of the three new multi-select filters. You can also search through your custom fields by:

  • projects using custom fields
  • custom field types
  • screens connected to a custom field

Content Delivery Network (CDN) for Jira Data Center

Our new Content Delivery Network (CDN) is now available for Data Center to improve performance for distributed teams and remote users. It allows you to serve static assets (such as JavaScript, CSS, and fonts) from servers closer to your users, resulting in faster page load times.

For example, if your Jira Data Center server (known as the origin) is located in Germany, a CDN can improve page load times for users located in Rio de Janeiro by as much as 50%, as static assets will be served from an edge server in Brazil.
