New projects do not have the Default Priority Scheme. When I go to Settings/Issues/Priority Schemes and click on "Associate", I see several projects that don't have the Default Priority Scheme (they should because the Default Priority Scheme should apply to all projects, right?).
I attempt to resolve this issue by highlighting all the projects in the list, then click "Next". I am then taken back to priority schemes view. I then go back into a project, select an issue, select Edit, and attempt to assign a priority to the issue. However, the drop down menu for Priority still says "No Matches". If I dont select a priority (there are none to choose from anyways) and attempt to update, it says "the priority selected is invalid".
I have attached screenshots to give a visual representation of what's happening.
Hi Edward,
Check this page and see if it can help you: https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/priority-scheme-is-not-associated-to-a-newly-created-project-by-default-945524522.html
Hi Cristian,
My problem is slightly different from page that you attached. On the page you attached it says:
"When creating a new project, you will see an error on the Priority Scheme when you navigate to Project > Project Settings. "
I'm not sure which "Project", or "Project Settings" button this article is referring to, but if I go to "Settings/Projects" or "Projects/View All Projects" I still do not see an error. In fact, I haven't seen an error display at all.
Furthermore, while the "Cause" section sounds similar to our issue, the "Workaround" section does not. In fact, the steps in the "Workaround" section are exactly where our problem is arising. We have tried the "Associate" button multiple times with multiple projects and nothing happens (as indicated in the screenshots attached to this ticket).
If you still think the SQL queries are applicable to this issue, I'll be happy to run them and let you know the results.
Thank you for the quick responses and I look forward to hearing from you again soon. Thanks!

Edward,
If you are going to execute the SQL query remember to backup the Jira Database, and yes, I'd like to know if it works.
If it doesn't, you probably need to open a ticket in Atlassian support: https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/

We used this SQL to reset projects to the default priority scheme, unfortunately this also had the effect of reverting a large number of projects back to the default issue type scheme.
The only way to fix Issue Type Scheme's is with a database restore from backup or manually changing each projects issue type scheme through the UI. There is no REST call for this.
This was on Jira Data Centre V7.11.2
