How to allow Service Desk portal customers access to linked JIRA tickets

Mujtaba shah June 17, 2019

I'm trying to allow a customer to access a linked JIRA ticket via a Service Desk ticket. The link has been added and I can see it, so can the customer, but the link isn't a hyperlink for the customer.

When I use the permission helper it shows that the customer doesn't have 'Browse Project' but I can see that permission under 'Service Deks Customer - Portal'.

Is it possible without the customer having a JIRA account?

Thanks

Hi @Mujtaba shah

Access can't be given without an account but you can display linked issues' details on the portal. Unfortunately you would need to use an add-on for that. Exocet app can do it for you or ScriptRunner for Jira. Both will let you display additional up to date information on the portal coming from linked issues.

@Ravi Sagar _Sparxsys_  Thanks for the reply, I'll look into ScriptRunner as we have JIRA cloud.

Thanks!
