Automatically close bug by matching fields with existing bugs

Hi Everyone,

I want to create some kind of automated process when a bug is created via email.

This will check whether there is a match between a specific field(Summary/Description) and the same field in existing bugs.

Accordingly, an automatic action will be performed to change the status.

Does anyone know a plug-in or a particular way to do this?

Hello,

It depends if you are on Cloud or Server. Basically you could try an add-on like Adaptivist Scriptrunner or Power Scripts. You could write a listener which would listen for the create issue event and when the event has been fired, the listener would search for the required bugs and make transitions.
