Custom field to calculate dates

Hey,

In order to use the Timeline view in a way that makes sense to my team, I would like to create custom fields that calculate the dates based on Formula. Particularly I need:

1. Start date - I have a custom numeric field called "work starts on sprint", I want that number to be translated into a date, based on a predefined list of sprint start dates.
in case this is completely undoable, then I will just have it as a regular date field, but this would be more better for me.

2. Guesstimated Delivery date - I would like to use a combination of the Start Date + amount of weeks based on Effort field with either t-shirt size or 1-5 scale, e.g. Start date March 1st, Effort M (pre-defined as 4 weeks) = Delivery Date March 28th.

I would really appreciate any help with this.

Along those lines, I would like to customized the timeline, as we dont work on standard quarters, our planning sessions are not consistently three months.

Hi Ronnie,

Thanks for your feedback. At the moment, these aren't possible with the timeline view, but as it is still recent, we continue on improving it.

Based on your comment it seems that you are doing some manual work to have your sprint dates and estimation into Jira Product Discovery.

Do you already have your sprint dates, T-shirt sized effort and estimated releases date already in Jira Software at the moment and copying these information in Jira Product Discovery?
