JSM <> JPD - Configuring Properties on Insights

Background

I'm using JSM as our intake form for feedback, in which I've added a number of custom fields to collect specific information I want (eg. categories, segments etc.)

I'm then using the JSM <> JPD integration using the Chrome extension to pass feedback between the two - as shown in this video:

https://www.loom.com/share/45f1cdd114ce4f9393d9272bd5053189

In this - I'm trying to configure the insights (so JPD ticket > Insights > configure > Configure Properties screen) - but can't see some of the fields I added to the JSM form that I'd like to pass over (eg. categories, segments etc.)

Question

How (or is it even possible to...) do I configure what is shown in the configure properties screen for insights from JSM <> JPD?

Hi @trevor.devroome , I don't think we support all Jira field types there. Are you seeing none of your fields or just some of them and not others?

Just some of them - and not others.

The goal I'm trying to achieve, is to help PMs on the ideas board see key inputs (categories, segments etc.) at a glance in the 'insights' view under the idea, as captured on the JSM form.

Thanks @trevor.devroome - can you please let me know what types are the fields that aren't available? We can then check if they're easy to add.

Thanks for checking @Tanguy Crusson

The two main fields I want are custom fields of the following types:

  • Select List (multiple choices)
  • Select List (cascading)

I use the 'Select List (multiple choices)' for selecting our customer segments (eg. Micro, SMB, Mid-market, Enterprise)

I use the 'Select List (cascading)' to categorise the feedback to specific parts of our Product (eg. 'API > Developer Docs' or 'API > Performance')

Thanks @trevor.devroome - I'll check with the team if we can add support for those easily

Hi @trevor.devroome , we were just in a team demo and Oleksii, one of the engineers on the team, just demo'd this - you can see support for multi-select and cascading select here:

It's coming soon!
