Dependent / Dynamic fields in Jira Product Discovery

Do we have plans to bring in Dependent / Dynamic fields in JPD?

Example, let's say we have 3 dropdown fields that are dependent on one another.

Based on the value od dropdown field 1, the options for dropdown field 2 adjusts accordingly. Based on value of dropdown field 2, the options for dropdown field 3 adjusts accordingly.

Thanks

Hi @N Lalitkumar

We don't have plans to have dynamic fields in Jira Product Discovery.

Could you please elaborate on your use case?

If let's say we have a Product Area as level 1 field with a bunch of Product Areas.

And then the level 2 field should display dropdown values based on the value of Product Area.

This would be display the list of Products/Modules that pertains to the broader Product Area.

And then the level 3 field should have the specific feature teams / agile teams who work on the Product- displayed based on the value of the level 2 field.

The outcome / value with having a dependent field structure is to eliminate errors and keeps the data hygiene. Will help with even more accurate representation of views, reports etc

Gotcha, thank you for elaborating on your use case, it is very clear.

I'm adding your use case as an insight in our discovery project.

Hello @N Lalitkumar

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I wanted to point out that there is a specific forum for Jira Product Discovery here:

Any movement on this request?

We have 7 different Product Areas where they all have unique Products. It's confusing to select a Product Area and have a list of Products that actually don't relate to the Product Area
