Date fields format

Good afternoon,

in JPD we use date fields for tracking Dev start/end dates.

When we pull them in a filter and then a dashboard this is what I get (I knew it was a problem in the past but I thought it was fixed). Any advice?

Thanks

Hi @Paolo Pastorino

That is the date format which JPD uses, helping to handle a range of values.

For other things like filters and dashboards, we are "stuck" with those text values of the dates.  Some possible workarounds are:

  • if exporting the data, parse the field to convert to a date type
  • if displaying the data in a Jira filter or dashboard...
    • add another custom field in global settings for a date picker
    • add that global field to your JPD project's fields
    • use automation rules to set the new custom field when the JPD one changes
    • use the new custom field in your filter results or dashboard

Kind regards,
Bill

Thanks Bill.

This was raised long ago with the JPD product team as, while it is presented as a date range, when I create it I can just enter one date, not a range.

I will give a try to the other options

Thanks
