Can I change the number of steps required to move an issue?

Can I change the number of steps required to move an issue? For example - i have a service desk project set up which is a centralized landing area for all issues which then have to be "moved" to separate projects. Moving an issue requires 4 steps to move to a project - can I reduce the number of steps required to move an issue? Since this is a core function of JIRA, not sure.

No, we can't minimize the steps for moving an issue. As those 4 steps defines the exact project, issuetype and workflow status where the issue has to move.

Alternatively, if you want to move many issues then you can go for bulk upload from csv/excel in one go.

I'd strongly recommend reviewing your setup, redesigning it so issues are raised in the correct projects to start with.  Moving issues between projects should never be part of a standard process.
