Bulk Block tests and link to bug

How do you update the status of a large number of tests and link to a bug in Zephyr/Jira?  For example, we have an API bug that is blocking ~250 tests.  It is not efficient or feasible to open each test individually and link to existing bug (which also forces you search for the said bug).  This process is very timeconsuming.

Ideally, you'd be able to select multiple tests, update status to Blocked and link the whole lot to bug xxx-1234.  And likewise, when bug xxx-1234 is resolved, you should be able to bulk update the ~250 tests from Blocked to Not Executed.

Any ideas on the most efficient way of doing this?

Hello @Tanya Kalaboukas

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

The Bulk Change feature does not support making bulk changes to issue links, unfortunately.

Depending on whether you are using Jira Cloud or Jira Server/Data Center, you might be able to accomplish the task using Automation Rules. You would use one rule to create the "blocks" link and another rule to remove the link.

How have you identified the ~250 issues that are blocked? Are those able to be identified with a JQL search, or do you have an explicit list?
