We are using Jira Service Management and we have been heavily using the Knowledge base integration between Jira Service Management and Confluence.

If someone needs to know how to do something, they should be able to find it in the KB.  If it doesn't exist in the KB, it needs to be added.

Yes!  They also believe in the concept - If you have to do a job more than once, you should automate it!
