Jira Service tickets auto-refresh

Marcel Risques June 30, 2023

Hi there,

Could you please confirm if it is possible to have the Jira Service Management (Cloud) tickets auto-refreshed for every new comment, for example, to make sure our support team is working with the latest version of the ticket?

I've heard that "Auto-refresh/Real-time updates are supported within Jira. However, are programmatically disabled if some connect/forge apps are present like Miro" but not sure if this is correct?

Thank you.

It seems this shortfall is going to be addressed soon:

Not the answer you are expecting, I'm sure. Mostly a comment:

- In my experience I've not found how to achieve this. Maybe due to so many apps we use to cover gaps in what Jira Cloud provides out of the box

- In reality, I believe that there might be very few Cloud setups that are app-free... where the out of the box setup fulfills all needs. I'm quite possibly wrong. But, at least from our side: any complex requirement has not been possible to be fulfilled with Jira alone

- This auto-refresh would be great. BUT! Only if it allows auto refresh on a "per section" or "per field" basis. Coming from Zendesk, one thing that was great was that you could see the changes happening on fields, while writing a comment and your comment writing was not interrupted or lost. Fields were updated in-place.... THIS would be great to have.

thanks.

Zendesk was very good at this.

I have the same problem, techs working on the same issue because of the refresh gap.
