Hi Channel,

Hope you all had a great new year!

I am trying to find out if it is possible to add a new button in Jira comments section, which can hold blurbs or templates often used on tickets?

Any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!

Hey @Bharath ,

Unlike the canned responses on Server/DC, not right now but it's being worked on.

Hi @Dirk Ronsmans ,

Thanks so much for sharing this. It's good to see there is a ticket but no updates on that from a long time :-(

Regards,

Bharath

@Bharath

This issue is being worked to add the Canned Responses feature to Jira Service Manager.  https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSDCLOUD-631

For Jira Software an app, such as this one, will be required for such responses:  https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1211016/canned-responses-pro-templates-for-jira?tab=overview&hosting=cloud

I've used the Spartez Canned Responses app for a while now and I can say it's definitely filled our need. I've also been impressed by the continuous development and improvement to the product beyond simple comment templates.

AFAIK, unlike Jira server/DC, your cannot use tricks like embedding HTML in custom field description.

There may be some add-on that performs the actions you require - do a search on the marketplace.

Whilst not quite what you are looking for, an alternative would be to explore custom fields e.g. multi-line text and some of the conditional settings in the workflow steps to trigger the capture of key information when processing a ticket.
