How to track and monitor user activity in Jira Cloud and send data via webhook or REST API?

If you want to search, filter, and view a detailed log of user activities across your Jira Cloud instance, the User Activity Audit Log addon can help you with that. This addon lets you track your user's activity and restore deleted issues. User Activity Audit Log has the ability to integrate with external platforms to send real-time data from the app.

For all the actions it is possible to see the log starting from the installation of the plugin. However, for the issue- and asset-related actions, also historical data, starting from January 1st, 2022 will be available in the app.

The addon has the functionality to:

  • Generate users' activity log

  • Easily Search and filter activities based on:

    • Users

    • User Groups

    • Projects

    • Organizations

    • Date Range

  • Enhance search and filters with JQL

  • Save, reuse, share, and manage filters

  • View a cumulative number of actions made by the user for:

    • Issues: created, updated, deleted, status changed, commented, comment updated, comment deleted, issue link created, issue link deleted

    • Worklogs: created, updated, deleted

    • Projects: created, updated, deleted

    • Users: created, updated, deleted

    • Global features enabled/disabled

    • Assets: created, updated

  • View detailed user activities in issues, including old and new values.

There are two views available: Aggregated View and Detailed View.

Aggregated View

The Aggregated view shows all the actions based on action authors in the rows:

You can integrate the User Activity Audit Log with the external platforms to send real-time data from the app. You can use Webhooks or REST API, depending on your choice or the technical capabilities of your platform.

Webhooks

You can use app webhooks to receive real-time updates for all the actions registered in the app. To do so, go to the Settings and click Webhooks:
