We are using Jira boards / projects in multiple scenarios and right now I am trying to find a solution that could take care of the CLM - creating an issue / contract, review and signature, if possible. I already accepted the fact that there will not be an integration with DocuSign and the signature would have to happen manually, but I still have hope for the other items.
I started exploring the Document approval functionalities and I was able to create the from I am looking to have there, but I want to limit all the users to see only their own issues / contracts and not all. I created a new role and gave it only "Create "Contract Lifecycle Management" issues and fill out their fields upon creation.", but still the users in this role are able to see all the issues in the board. Any ideas / suggestions / recommendations on how to approach this?
I am also open to solution that could do the job. I was thinking about the Legal Service Management, but my colleagues from the IT team explained to me that this is a completely different functionality and it is not what I am looking for to achieve.

What I am trying to find is a simplified contract management tool that is within Jira. Initially I though that the Service Management features would do the job, but according to my colleague from the IT team this is for tracking services and not at all related to the Legal side of things.
In few words - I am looking for a way to integrate the whole contract review process within a single Jira ticket and also restrict all users to have access only to their tickets, the ones that they have created. Does that make sense? I will be happy to provide any additional information, if needed.

Do you have Jira Cloud or Server?
Had a discussion with my Jira expert and the contract review process within a single Jira ticket looks doable. And restricting users from viewing certain tickets can also be achieved. We have Jira Admins who support clients with these kinds of requests. Please let me know if would like to explore professional services around Jira support

We are using Jira Cloud. I do believe what I am looking for is achievable and if you can share the exact steps to that particular settings, that would be great. I have spoken with our Security Officer who has admin rights and he would be able to make the change for me.

We were able to achieve what we were aiming for by applying a different security scheme for the particular project. Here is the article we used to base our setup - https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-issue-security-schemes/
Our goal was:
- to allow all employees to submit contracts for review and be able to see only their own requests;
- to create a specific group of people, our Legal and Compliance teams, to have access to all these contracts;
However, this scheme is very restrictive and it is very difficult to later integrate with Slack and get update there. The only notification in Slack we were able to set was to get a notification that a new request has been submitted. Our IT & InfoSec folks handled this part, so I don't have much details, but I can ask and share if this is of interest.

I am also curious if you found a solution. I'm having a hard time finding something to meet our (rather basic) contract lifecycle management needs. In our case, it would be fine if it's a third party app that can integrate with Jira, but I can't seem to find one!

I'd be keen to understand if you used your solution to help with the other aspect of CLM? ie did you save performance or governance documents in the 'tickets' or use it to help with any other aspects of SRM?
Like you l'm looking for a CLM/SRM solution that doesnt over complicate it but does more than the review/execution process
