For Jira Align, there is functionality to create a checklist to document steps in a process.  Refer to the help article on creating checklists

https://help.jiraalign.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000172954-Create-checklists-to-guide-users-through-tasks

or feel free to reach out if you need further assistance.

Bingo!

@Kim Herren is it possible to duplicate a checklist. We have created a checklist of 10 items. We want to use it before starting every epic. We dont want to manually add the items and create a new checklist. instead if I could just create a template and keep duplicating it for each Epic. It would be helpful.

@manish a I don't see a way to duplicate them.  You can create it as a Public Individual checklist so each user can refer to their own checklist as they go through the process.  Unfortunately, as they complete the checklist and want to start over with a new epic, they'll have to start by unchecking each item on the list.

hmm.. understood. is there a way to create a check through an api

Hey, @manish a

Jira doesn't have an option for checklists by default, but you can add checklists to Epics using a third-party app like Smart Checklist

Smart Checklist can be added to any issue type in Jira and there are actually several ways you can do it:
