What is the purpose of the Parent Key Result field in an Objective

Exploring Objectives in pre release v10.75 and found the Expand link under Parent attribute

"What key result from the parent Objective does this Objective best contribute to?"

What is the purpose of this field and which Dashboard brings value to it?

Thanks
Darren

Howdy Darren!

It looks the aim of this field is to allow the user to align their objectives to the the key results of the parent objective.

If I have a portfolio objective of increasing revenue by x % what solution or program objectives roll up into that larger value delivery.

Now I can select the parent objective and align the child objective to a specific outcome (key result) of the larger parent objective.

This is creating a hierarchy of value that then aggregates to the highest level in the system for rich reporting in the Objectives Tree and Strategy room.

I hope this helps provide a base context by which one would use this options.

Is your organization using the OKRs aspect of the Objectives in Jira Align?
