That simply means the Epic (ID#1978 from the screenshot) can't be associated with Program level Objective (ID#3837) that you are trying to map here as the mapping of your current Objective might not be inline with what you are trying to do here.

Example:

Portfolio Tier--> Portfolio Epics and

Program Tier--> Program Feature

Check the current mapping by: Admin-->Portfolios-->"Open any objective"--> in the right side detail panel window Click on "Objectives mapping"--> Verify and save settings.

Hope this helps.

A Program level Objective should be associated with Features only. So, your options are to edit the associated Objective and change its level to Portfolio, or disassociate this Objective from the Epic. Only Portfolio level Objective can be associated with Epics.

Since the Objective was already associated to the Epics, it seems the level of the Objective was changed from Portfolio to Program. So, now Jira Align is showing you a warning.

You can view the Audit Log of the Objective to confirm.
