Global Rank generally refers to the ranking of work items without regard for Program Increment.  Check this page for details: Prioritize/Rank Work Items in the Backlog

Thanks Allan,  I reviewed it before posting my question .

I was looking for additional insight on the following statement:

  • Global rank: an item’s rank relative to all work items of its type (for example, epics or features). This is the default ranking level when nothing is specified in the Configuration bar.

On a different note:

There is a button available "Prioritize" in the backlog view for Super admin but not for others roles. How do we enable it for other roles.?

Global Rank is essentially the ranking of the Features when you have no Planning Interval/Program Increment/Quarter selected.

The Prioritize button is only available when at least one Planning Interval is selected because Prioritization with WSJF is per PI.

I believe the Prioritization button is available to all roles if the requirement of having at least one PI selected is met.  Please let me know if you find this to be false.
