Our PI consists of a combination of scrum and kanban teams. When we are reviewing our Program Board and addressing red items on the board, it was because the 'target completion' was outside of PI. Upon reading, this field is autocalculated.
Our Kanban teams want the ability to edit the target completion field and manually set vs system auto setting based on the teams JA 'throughput' settings.
How are your RTEs managing to this? Are you using the overwrite option for the team's 'throughput' setting? What ways do you work around this so the board doesn't unnecessarily flag something red?
I am able to set the Feature target complete date for a Kanban Team. I am not able to specifically say when each Story under that Feature will complete. That is auto-calculated. The red/orange on the Feature is an indication that your Kanban team is overcommitted on Stories which is a good thing to know.
If you feel like the Kanban Team is justified in overcommitting versus their calculated throughput, then you can override that value from the Team's grid. See pic
