Could Jira Align be integrated with multiple Jira Instances and sites ? If yes, then how ? through application links... ?

Hi Abdel,

Welcome to the Jira Align Community.  I have migrated your post on our FAQ to this question thread to provide a response.

Jira Align has a robust Jira Connector User Interface that allows you map the Projects, Boards, Sprints, and Issuetypes that Sync between Jira and Jira Align.  The issuetypes and fields that sync between the applications are defined here: https://agilecrafthelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000088393-10X-Jira-Data-Synchronization

We have multiple customers that have more than 1 connector configured which enables customers to associate each connector to a separate Jira Application.   This would allow Jira Align to be integrated with multiple Jira Instances. Jira Align can authenticate into the Jira Rest API using Basic Auth, API Token, and OAuth 1.0.  There would indeed by an application link configured when OAuth 1.0 is utilized.

Abdel, I am an Align Solution Architect working a number of different clients and several of my clients have integrated multiple Jira instances with a single Align instance. This was one of the specific use cases Align was designed for, and allows a portfolio management team or executive strategy team to have a view of the status across the enterprise, regardless of how many Jira instances there are.

In order to support this, the Align instance would need multiple Jira Connectors, and each separate connector would point to a different Jira instance. And each Jira instance may have many projects within it. This is shown below.

This is really interesting, thank you for sharing. Do the JIRA instances need to be on the same version of JIRA to connect to a single Align instance?

@Karin van Driel The Jira instances can be different versions. So if you're using Cloud for one group and Data Center for another and Server for another, it can all be brought together in Align.
