Does the status of a Feature in Jira Align change automatically from ('In progress' to 'Dev complete') if all the child stories under the Feature are moved from ('In progress' to 'Dev complete')? If it doesn't change automatically, is there a way to make it happen?
Thank you!
Hi @Reddy,
The feature in Jira Align will move automatically to In Progress when the first story moves to In Progress.
The feature will not change automatically from In Progress to Dev Complete (I just tested it with a single story feature). There is no way (to my knowledge) to have it change automatically, nor would we want it to if we are following Lean-Agile and SAFe principles.
The feature should have its own Acceptance Criteria. As such, the completion of the stories by itself does not guarantee the feature is dev complete.
The Product Owner or Product Manager should be working with the teams to make sure feature-level Acceptance Criteria are being met as the stories are completed, as well as being responsible for accepting the features by the end of a Program Increment.
For Completeness (BUT I DON'T RECOMMEND): You could have your Jira Admin write a script to to update the status of a feature (Jira epic) to Dev Complete in Jira when all stories are Done. If you have feature state syncing turned on in Jira Align, then the Jira epic state will update will trigger the Jira Align feature state to update to "Dev Complete," assuming your State Mappings are correct. Again, I DON'T recommend this approach.

Peter
Hello @Peter Jessen ,
Thank you very much for the reply and you've answered my question very precisely :)
One more question : May I please know if there is a way to view the Jira Align training videos (like it has in launchpad) in an actual prod instance? If so, how do I view them and if not where do I find them without having to create a trial account in launchpad?
Thank you!

Hello @Reddy,
You can find the training videos under the Clip board in the upper right corner of the Jira Align screen.

Peter

It is the Training Simulations within the Checklist function that you're looking for.

@Rich Sparks , I dont see a "checklist function" video in the training sims. Can you advise which sim it's in?
Thanks.
Nathan

@Nathan Harrison- There is no checklist function video. Each training simulation has a series of steps, which is the checklist.

Can you turn OFF the functionality of the Jira Align Feature updating automatically when a Story is changed to In Progress?
