Capacity vs Load - Program Board

Does functionality exist yet in Jira Align where the tool can take the average velocity for a team and use it for PI Planning, to compare to what the team has 'loaded' for each iteration? This would be welcomed functionality if it does not yet exist.

Thank you.

Hi @Camilla Harp !

Great news! This is existing functionality in Jira Align and can be viewed in the Backlog, Program Room and Team Room. The Velocity for a program shows the average total story points delivered by the program over the previous 2 PIs and it can be overridden manually.  When you override velocity, it changes it everywhere for that PI.  The velocity for an individual team is the number of points accepted in the last 5 completed sprints.  You can also override Team Velocity, thus changing the value label to Override Team Velocity.

Feel free to reach out with any questions!

Thanks

@Camilla Harp one place you can see that in the Program Room

For changes there are the PI Scope Change  and Scope Change  reports

For example -- on the Program Board, it would be a great addition as a line above each team's section of the Board, by Iteration. :) A way to 'lock in the information at the conclusion of PI Planning would be a great addition, so that we could track changes throughout the PI.

Thank you!
