Hi there,
We have about 10 release trains delivering on a 2-weeks cadence. Our release notes are sitting in custom fields in Jira. Would I be able to create 1 or more customized release notes communications, and distribute them to one or more distribution groups, and/or generate pdfs automatically from within Align? Are all the recipients required to be Align users? Or, can I publish them in a way that are accessible by anyone in my organization?
Thanks
@Marco Chiarello - there's not an easy way to do what you're looking to do around release notes, but I can think of some workarounds...
Unfortunately there's not a good way to send all this out, beyond traditional email. If you want to have Jira Align send an email, you could schedule an email from the Admin > Settings > Emails page, but this would need to be just a text based email (no attachments) and requires a cadence to be sent out (which could be beneficial for you if you release on a cadence). See screenshot below.
My thoughts here would be to follow steps 1 and 2 above, save the information off to an internal system (maybe a Confluence page), and then email that to everyone. That'll probably be your best option, but others might have different ideas.
I hope this helps a little. I'm curious to hear what you find as you explore!
