Automatic capacity monitoring for features

Is there a feature in Jira Align where I can set the capacity of teams and as I load  epics for those teams it shows remaining capacity so that I dont have to manually keep track of how many points I have planned for Features and how many more to plan

Hi Praveen,

If you are looking to understand your PI capacity and how much you are loading into the PI based on the Jira Epics/Features added to the PI from the backlog, this is possible from the Program Backlog.  You should be able to view the estimated program load in the header bar for the particular PI. 

If you know for a particular PI your team of teams capacity will be greater or less than normal, click on the gear icon next to "Override Program PI Velocity".  As you add Jira Epics/Features to the PI, the number next to "Jira Epic Estimate" will increase.

Alternatively, you can use the Kanban>Column View in the backlog to see a bar that shows the % load of the Program PI Load:

Thank you @Jean Henson , have you looked into the tool or found a way to capacity plan for horizon planning beyond the PI? I know the forecast tab has some of this functionality, but wondering if there are other options within Align to support longer term horizon planning for teams assigned to Epics and based on allocation the expected target completion date for accomplishing the full estimate/scope of the Epic given the teams historical capacity in points and % allocation for future periods.

Hi @Anthony Smidl , Jira Align does have the ability to Forecast member weeks for future PIs (you must select more than the current PI in the Tier 1/Configuration filter) and to plan capacity. This can be accomplished via Program>Manage>Forecast, provided it has been toggled on in Roles.  Some information about the Forecast module can be viewed here:
