http error 406 not acceptable

Uyen vu November 8, 2014

Hi,

I am trying to pull data from the existing repo of Github. Before I updated to SourceTree v1.6.8 (Windows 7+), the github path was accessible. After the software update to the latest version, I cannot pull data from the repo anymore. I gave "abort HTTP error 406 Not Acceptable".  Would anyone know how to fix this? From the error, it seems that http url is not longer acceptable? If so, what's the alternative method to pull data from github?

Thanks.

Since you have not changed the pull/push URL, that is most probably not the problem.

Try installing the latest msysgit from here, updating the embedded Git in SourceTree (Tools/Options/Git) and switching between embedded and system Git (Tools/Options/Git) to see if the problem is caused by an old/buggy Git implementation on your side.
