how do i get a log on a particular file that's not changed?

r. brian lindahl September 12, 2013

i'm migrating to sourcetree from tortoisegit. the only thing i've found that i'm missing so far is the ability to right-click on any file in the repo and get a log for it. i can do that for changed files in the 'file status' pane, but i don't see any way to look at files that weren't modified.

Hey there,

Some people have requested for an easier way to discover files in this respect, but it is possible. You need to change your filters so 'Show All'. The filter is just above file lists. If you go to the 'File Status' view then you can change this filter and view all files. It will list all the files in your repository folder and from there you can look for the file in question, right click on it, and then 'Log Selected'.

Hope that helps.

Ah, ok. I'll give that a try. If I think of something that would make it easier, i'll let you know. ;)
